2025 Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Balls

Can you believe a quarter of a century has passed since Titleist launched the Pro V1, the golf ball that changed the game? The accompanying Titleist Pro V1x came along soon after and since then, the innovation hasn’t really stopped for Titleist.

Now, the latest evolution of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x is ready to transform the game once again. The new 2025 models offer more of everything, without sacrificing the very qualities that make the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x the most played balls in golf.

There’s more speed off the tee, more control with the irons and more spin with the wedges — an all-round boost in performance that can be attributed to Titleist’s fast new core.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE PRO V1 AND PRO V1x

Both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x feature a new high gradient core. The new core is softer in the centre then gets progressively firmer as it expands outward, kind of like a Lindt ball.

A reformulation of the core ingredients delivered greater spin separation between the core, mantle layer and cover. That gave Titleist the ability to tune the ball for optimal long game and short game performance, helping the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x to do everything just a little better than their 2023 predecessors.

The Pro V1 is a three-layer ball. The new graduated core makes it perform like it has a second mantle layer. It helps reduce spin for the driver for more speed and distance but elevates spin for irons and wedges.

Meanwhile, the new Pro V1x remains one of the few dual-core balls in the game. The new high gradient inner core has an equally impressive impact, leading to faster driver speeds and improved control and spin on approach shots.

WHAT REMAINS

Spin and speed have been improved in both balls but the separation between the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x remains, by and large, the same. The Pro V1 is a mid-flight, mid-spin tour ball while the Titleist Pro V1x is the higher-launching and spinning option of the two.

Titleist’s speed enhancing high flex mantle layer, soft urethane cover and unique dimple design installed on each model are the same as the 2023 models.

The Pro V1’s 388 tetrahedral dimple design optimises distance and produces a lower, more penetrating, and consistent ball flight. The Pro V1x’s 348 tetrahedral dimple design generates a higher ball flight.

Compression for both balls also remains similar. The Pro V1’s compression is slightly higher, approaching the high 80s, while the firmer Pro V1x is pegged in the high 90s.

2025 TITLEIST PRO V1

The new 2025 Pro V1 offers a slightly lower ball flight and less spin off the tee compared to the Pro V1x. It produces more spin in the irons and wedges compared to the previous Pro V1, for more stopping power, but retains its softer feel compared to the Pro V1x.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Pro V1x spins less in the long game but ratchets up spin in the short game. However, the new Titleist Pro V1x will launch higher and spin more through the bag than the new Pro V1 while delivering a firmer feel.
