Unprecedented, record-breaking forgiveness is the headline act of TaylorMade’s juicy new Qi10 line-up of golf clubs. For a brand that has traditionally prioritised speed above almost everything else, the Qi10 line-up represents a fundamental philosophy shift for TaylorMade.
After the previous Stealth and Stealth 2 range ushered in the CarbonWood revolution and associated “fargiveness”, TaylorMade were reasonably confident they had everyone covered in the distance and speed departments. So the emphasis in the Qi10 range was on increasing forgiveness without impacting speed. It was an ambitious undertaking because forgiveness and speed are often inversely related; when forgiveness is increased, speed invariably suffers.
But the secret sauce in the new Qi10 line-up of Drivers, Fairway Woods, Hybrids and Irons has achieved record-breaking forgiveness — all without leaving any distance on the table. In a first for a driver TaylorMade cracked the 10k MOI mark, which is a monumental amount of stability and forgiveness (the 10 in the name references the remarkable accomplishment). Indeed, the entire Qi10 line-up is earth-shatteringly fast and forgiving.
If you thought Stealth’s “fargiveness” was impressive wait till you see the new Qi10 range.
