DYNAPWR: RETRO NAME, ADVANCED TECH

Dynapower was once the undisputed, top-selling, No.1 iron line in golf. Wilson’s recent reboot of the name (albeit with a few vowels missing) connects to that storied history. But it doesn’t get too misty-eyed.

The new Wilson Dynapwr and Wilson Dynapwr Max irons are about as forward-thinking as it gets in the tech-heavy game improvement iron category.

The new Dynapower irons are long. If you’re a golfer who needs to hit the ball further, you’re not going to be disappointed. Wilson have introduced several key innovations that make the Dynapower irons top performers in the game improvement category.

FACE TIME

Wilson wound up the supercomputer to make the new Dynapwr iron face faster across its entire area.

The Wilson design team ran hundreds and hundreds of virtual iterations of the face design, relying on A.I. and machine learning to refine and improve each one. Finally, they boiled it down to the winner: the new PKR face cup (Peak Kinetic Response, if you’re interested).

The new stainless steel variable thickness PKR face cup is flexible and fast, which promotes ball speeds that will be at, or near, the top of the game improvement charts.

VOC: HIDDEN SPEED HOLES

Wilson’s new Velocity Optimisation Channel is ostensibly the replacement for Wilson’s Speed Holes, which appeared on the sole of Wilson’s previous Dynapwr iron model.

The VOC maximises the flexibility of the new Dynapwr PKR face, which helps launch the ball faster at impact and reduces speed and distance losses when balls are struck low on the face or off-centre.

While Speed Holes were like a gaping wound on the sole, the VOC is hidden away internally behind the face, leaving a much cleaner-looking sole on both Dynapwr iron models.

NEW ETC CHASSIS

The ETC chassis, or Energy Transfer Chassis, if you don’t mind, is located on the rear of the new Dynapwr irons (the standard Dynapwr iron, not the Max model).

It’s a structural support frame that permits the face cup to flex and rebound. But it also refines feel and sound. So, while they look like game improvement irons, Dynapwr irons feel and sound better than you’d probably expect.

The chassis is also a critical component of the Dynapwr irons’ hollow body design. Wilson have concentrated mass low and deep inside the head to create a high launching trajectory and a steep descent angle.

But in the Dynapwr Max iron the mass placement looks different. Rather than being hollow, the Max iron features a unique open heel construction, which shifts mass from the heel to the toe and sole to boost forgiveness, improve carry distance and stopping power on the greens.

WILSON DYNAPWR IRON MODELS

Wilson double the Dynapwr iron line-up in 2025. The standard Dynapwr and Dynapwr Max irons are engineered slightly differently, to suit different types of players.

WILSON DYNAPWR IRONS

The standard Wilson Dynapwr irons are hollow-bodied game improvement irons. More compact than the Max model, Dynapwr irons are fast and forgiving with a Energy Transfer Chassis powering the hollow-bodied design.

WILSON DYNAPWR MAX IRON

A larger head and thicker topline gives the Dynapwr Max iron a confidence-inspiring appearance. The Max is the more forgiving model, achieved through a cavity-back, Open Hosel design that shifts mass from the heel to the sole and toe. Wilson also offer a Dynapwr Max Women's iron.
