Bryson Dechambeau’s quirky and inventive approach to the game quickly established him as golf’s "mad scientist". But after his 2024 US Open win at Pinehurst, he has also established himself as one of the game’s great entertainers.
Back in 2020, a bulked-up “Beefy Bryson” overpowered Winged Foot to win the US Open. However, since joining the LIV Tour in 2022 and assuming the captaincy of the Crushers, a trimmed-down Bryson now cuts a rather more svelte figure. After recovering from wrist surgery, Bryson showed he was back when shooting a magical 58 to win LIV Greenbrier in 2023, before following up a few weeks later with victory at LIV Chicago.
The 30-year-old American soon became a presence at majors again in 2024, claiming a string of top 10s before finishing runner-up to Xander Schauffele at the 2024 PGA Championship (May 16–19). Then came his breakthrough at Pinehurst (June 13–16), where he tamed the brutal No.2 course with brilliant driving, precise irons and a short game that held up under immense pressure to help him claim his second US Open title.
Pioneer of the One Length philosophy and forever experimenting with his equipment, Bryson’s current bag features a rather eclectic mix of clubs in 2025.
